Game Changer Movie Review, Rating and Release Live Updates: Exactly six years after last starring in a film as a solo hero, Ram Charan is back with his next, Game Changer. Directed by Shankar, this is Ram Charan’s first Sankranti release since Vinaya VIdheya Rama, and he is hoping to make a lasting impression in a commercial potboiler, helmed by the OG of this genre, Shankar. The film, backed by Dil Raju and Sirish, is expected to kickstart 2025 on a commercially high note, and stars Ram Charan’s Vinaya Vidheya Rama co-star Kiara Advani.
Game Changer, which marks Shankar’s first direct Telugu film in his career, stars an interesting set of actors, including SJ Suryah, Anjali, Jayaram, and Sunil. The action-packed trailer has set the tone for the expectations from the film, and the booking trends point towards an upward surge in interest worldwide. With music by Thaman and cinematography by Tirru, Game Changer seems to be right up the ally of Shankar’s brand of films, which features people in power, unchecked corruption, a sentimental flashback, and of course, the age-old good triumphs over evil. In fact, it is all about how Shankar portrays his rather simple one-liners of a story, and Game Changer is expected to be a rousing return to form for the filmmaker, who has been facing a career slump, especially since the response to his 2024 film, Indian 2, starring Kamal HaasanSiddharth, and Priya Bhavanishankar.
Game Changer features Ram Charan in two distinct roles, which seems to be of a father and a son. While the father character seems to be a rather conscientious person, the son is all sorts of fun and ‘unpredictable’. While Kiara Advani would star in the present-day portions, Anjali would play a prominent role in the flashback. Incidentally, the script of Game Changer was developed from a idea provided by ace filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj, who is currently working on Suriya’s upcoming film, Retro.
Shankar is slated to work on Indian 3 after the completion of all Game Changer formalities. Backed by Lyca Productions, Indian 3 is said to trace the roots of Senapathi himself, and the portions of this film, which were shown as a glimpse towards the end of Indian 2, received a more raucous response.

Apart from Game Changer, Ram Charan is also starring in Buchi Babu Sana’s next, which has music by AR Rahman. He is also expected to reunite with his Rangasthalam maker Sukumar, whose calm demeanour doesn’t do justice to the kind of upheaval he has provided in Indian cinema by helming the record-breaking blockbuster Pushpa 2: The Rule.
