Hyderabad: The Telangana high court has directed revenue officials to ensure there is no transaction involving a 3.5-acre govt plot in survey number 221 in Ibrahimpatnam until further orders.
The court also ordered chief commissioner of land administration (CCLA) Navin Mittal to file an affidavit in his personal capacity and the revenue department principal secretary to submit a counter by the next hearing.
Justice CV Bhaskar Reddy gave the interim order in a writ petition by Machaa Mahender, president of BSP’s Ibrahimpatnam mandal, questioning official inaction despite complaints against Indu College of Engg and Technology for allegedly occupying this land illegally.
According to petitioner’s counsel Venkat Raghu Mannepalli, he had filed several complaints with the chief commissioner of land administration as well as Rangareddy collector, but they did not respond.
“Though all relevant revenue records show it as govt land, the unlawful presence of Indu College was not stopped by revenue authorities. Due to this negligence of revenue officials, including the Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) and tahsildar of Ibrahimpatnam, several fraudulent documents were created over this land,” Venkat Raghu said. The case was adjourned to Feb 4.
