Hyderabad: Unidentified persons broke into the house of former minister and BRS senior leader Ponnala Lakshmaiah in upscale Jubilee Hills and took away cash and valuables. Though the burglary took place on Jan 10, and police registered a case, it came to light only on Thursday. Film Nagar police probing the case said that they deputed special teams to nab the suspects.
Lakshmaiah resides on Road No. 92, Jubilee Hills. On Jan 10, he, along with his wife Aruna Devi, went to a temple and returned home in the afternoon. Later, Aruna Devi went out on some work and returned home in evening. The next day, she noticed one of bedroom doors ajar, and almirah open. She found 1.5 lakh cash, a gold necklace, bangles, and valuables missing. “The role of an insider is also being verified,” said a cop.
