Hyderabad: The Gaddar Telangana Film Awards will be given to the best Telugu films and stars from the ensuing Ugadi festival. The award will carry a cash prize and a citation.
“We want to make Hyderabad a global destination in film production. It was decided to present awards to encourage film production in the state, and the Gaddar Telangana Film Awards will be held every year from this Ugadi. The awards will be given under various categories such as feature films, children’s films, and books on Telugu cinema. It was also decided to design a logo for the Gaddar award,” deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka said after holding a meeting with Gaddar awards committee members at the secretariat on Saturday.
The awards will be presented to recognise and praise the best films produced in the Telugu language. The awards will be presented with the aim of encouraging the production of films with high technical expertise and human values, which have cultural, educational, and social relevance that promote national integration and unity, he told the officials.
The meeting also discussed the procedures, rules, and regulations, including the logo for the awards.
