Hyderabad: The Telangana high court has directed the state govt to file its counter in three PILs challenging allotment of land to BRS in the state.
A division bench of Acting Chief Justice Sujoy Paul and Justice G Radha Rani gave the govt four weeks to file its response after a request for time by additional advocate general Mohammed Imran Khan.
One PIL questioned the decision to allot prime land on Road No. 12 in Banjara Hills to the party where it has built its headquarters Telangana Bhavan. The other two PILs challenged land allotment to the party in Kokapet and in all districts headquarters.
The PILs challenged the allotment terming it as illegal, arbitrary, discriminatory and in violation of various past judgments of the Supreme Court and high court. The petitioners urged the high court to issue directions to the govt to resume the land, including the buildings constructed by the BRS.
The bench posted the matter to March 6.
