Hyderabad: An intermediate student was found hanging in her hostel room at Kuntloor in Hayathnagar on the city outskirts on Sunday night.
Police suspect she was upset for some unknown reasons and died by suicide.
According to the Hayathnagar police, the victim identified as Sowmya (16) was studying first year and stayed in the minority Gurukul hostel near the college premises.
On Sunday, after her roommate left, she is suspected to have hanged herself from the ceiling fan of her room.
Her friends grew suspicious when there was no response from inside even after repeatedly knocking on the door and informed the hostel authorities.
The door was broke open and she was found dead. The Hayathnagar police reached the spot and shifted the body for an autopsy.
The Hayathnagar police are investigating.
