After Hi-Tech City in Hyd, CBN To Build Data City in Vizag

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is often credited with transforming Hyderabad into an IT hub. He was the one who revolutionized the IT sector’s boom, built Hi-Tech City, and attracted tech giants like Microsoft to establish their centers in the city. Now, he plans to do the same for Vizag.

Already, Amaravati is being built at a world-class level. Now, Babu is aiming to make Vizag a hub for technology. According to sources, CBN is working on developing a Data City, where data centers will be located, along with Artificial Intelligence (AI) hubs around Visakhapatnam.

Plans are in place to develop Data City in Madhurawada. It will be on the lines of Hyderabad’s Hi-Tech City and will span across 500 acres of land. It will serve as the center for all IT companies. The land acquisition process has already begun, and reportedly, Google will be given 80 acres of land for its data center in the same area. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will receive 30 acres for its expansion.

While Hi-Tech City was Naidu’s brainchild, we hear that the Data City concept was Lokesh’s idea. During a recent trip to Davos, Lokesh also held talks with Cognizant CEO Ravi Kumar to invest in Data City. CBN and Lokesh also discussed the project with Microsoft CEO Bill Gates and invited him to invest in Hyderabad.

The government is gradually attracting IT companies to invest in Data City, positioning it as a future hub for the sector.
