The Alphas have been excellent especially in terms of wet grip and signs of wear barely seen, on the center.

Salaga turns one!
5,542 km of fuss free, exciting riding. 5 long trips (250 – 650km) and not even a puncture. Just an oil topup and front brake pads change, and chain adjustment/lubing. This has been the most emotional purchase for me so far and paying the extra premium over the market for a preloved bike has really paid off – so much so even thoughts of selling it over upcoming maintenance costs and the fuel economy (20 kmpl city, 25 kmpl highway) and get a CB200X were outright dismissed. She turns 8 this April and I can’t believe the reliability! Every kilometer of this evokes strong feelings.
The Alphas have been excellent especially in terms of wet grip and signs of wear barely seen, on the center. Will easily last upto 20k is my guess until it sees more running in mixed conditions, perhaps a track day with some spirited riding.
It will be time for the periodic service in another 1000 km. Oil/coolant levels dipping can be gauged by the smoothness/heat and both are in control. I intend to swap the present front to the rear and get Brembo pads, DOT 5.1 brake fluid for the front. Been around 3700 km with them and they have been good in the city.
An idea of getting an Arrow slipon from motoperformance store is also on the cards once I heard the exhaust note of an Akrapovic on another 390. The stock is beautiful but lacks bass and is too silent on the highway.
Signing off with a picture after a short 15 km “anniversary” run today. Love the on-haunches stance and the cockroach looks – so much for scoffing at it only a year ago. Looks brand new!
