Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Police arrested a man on the charges of illegally possessing and selling marijuana-laced chocolates near the Secunderabad railway station on Thursday night.

Officials seized about 24 kg drug-laced chocolate packets, worth about 1 lakh were seized from him.


The drug peddler, identified as Gorakh Kumar from Uttar Pradesh, has been illegally smuggling drugs-laced chocolates from Rajasthan to Hyderabad. He sold them for higher rates to consumers at various parts of the city.

On Thursday, he reached the Secunderabad railway station with the chocolates laced with marijuana from Rajasthan. He was apprehended by the police while he was waiting for a bus to deliver these chocolates to a shop in Kukatpally.

On being interrogated, Gorakh spilled the beans and the drug-chocolates were seized from him.
