Rusting issue in my new Kia Carens for the 2nd time : Design flaw?

This is a clear design flaw if anyone can notice in the picture. I am adding the link and photos for your reference.

Hi,

I want to add something to post #1729 – the “KIA CARENS review” thread by “ant_vas”. Even I have faced the same rusting issue 2 times. The first time I noticed was in DEC-23, Kia fixed it on warranty in JAN/FEB-24, but after 8-9 months the issue has popped up again in the same spot. I have to report it again and get it fixed again. This is a clear design flaw if anyone can notice in the picture. I am adding the link and photos for your reference.

I think KIA CARENS headlights can also be considered as a design fault, my Hyundai Grand I10 NIOS AMT has great projector lamps comparatively. I don’t know how this got through government approvals.

In simple terms, I can say Team-BHP is like an encyclopedia of customer voice, observation, review, knowledge and feedback. Please continue the work.

Here’s what BHPian ant_vas had to say in this matter:

All Kia Carens owners should check for this and verify it they also have the same issue. If the issue is seen in other’s Carens, then we can demand Kia to act on this to provide a permanent solution may be by recalling and replacing that panel with a different panel with new design which doesn’t retain the water

Meanwhile, here’s what Bhpian vnagarajs recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

I had the same issue and ended up paying out of my pocket for a repaint. But after just 3-4 months, the problem has returned. This time, I’m going to take it up with them. My car is a 2022 Prestige Plus Diesel.
