Vidaamuyarchi Movie Review, Rating and Release Live Updates: Ajith Kumar’s much-anticipated film Vidaamuyarchi has released in theatres on February 6. The film, directed by Magizh Thirumeni, has also received permission for 9 AM special shows by the Tamil Nadu government.
The film, set against the backdrop of Azerbaijan, also stars Arjun Sarja, Trisha, Regina Cassandra, Arav, and Vijay Ramya. Anirudh Ravichander, the man behind Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and Darbar music, has composed songs for the film. The Tamil action-drama has been given U/A certificate by CBFC. Vidaamuyarchi is expected to have a grand opening with an estimated box office collection of Rs 40 crore.
Vidaamuyarchi was previously slated for a January 2025 release, but was postponed due to “unavoidable circumstances”. The film is reportedly made on a budget of Rs 200 crore with Ajith kumar’s remuneration falling between Rs 110 to 120 crore, according to Koimoi. The Ajith Kumar-starrer has already raked in Rs 8.86 crore in advance bookings by selling about 4-8 lakh tickets for 5863 shows, according to Sacnilk.

Ajith Kumar was last seen in the 2023 film, Thunivu, which was produced by Boney Kapoor. The actor didn’t have a release in 2024. Now, in 2025, the actor is set to feature in Vidaamuyarchi followed by Good Bad Ugly, which is set to release in April.
