Hundreds of students participated enthusiastically in the ‘Shobha Yatra’, organised by Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Visakhapatnam, on Friday, February 7, as part of youth activities associated with the National Youth Day celebrations. The Shobha Yatra, being held on January 7, every year, was rescheduled this year due to unavoidable circumstances.

District Collector M.N. Harendhira Prasad flagged off the rally at the Government College for Women on the Old Jail Road. The rally passed through Nowroji Road and RK Beach before concluding at Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama.
Rear Admiral K. Srinivas and Vice-Chancellor of Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University D. Surya Prakasa Rao were among those present.
The participating students included NCC and NSS students from over 30 colleges, according to Swasamvedyananda, secretary, RK Mission Ashrama, Visakhapatnam.
A special public reception was given to the participants of the rally at Central Revenue Quarters on Nowroji Road, where officers from Central Revenue Service and Railway Service offered floral tributes to the statue of Swami Vivekananda under the leadership of N. Sridhar, Principal Commissioner GST and Customs, and Manoj Kumar Sahoo, Divisional Railway Manager, Waltair Division of East Coast Railway(E Co R).
