Hyderabad: Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) Managing Director VC Sajjanar held a series of virtual meetings with field-level employees and officials on Friday.
The organisation’s performance, Sankranti operations, employee welfare, implementation of the Mahalaxmi scheme for women, and other issues were discussed in the meetings.
Sajjanar appreciated the efforts of the staff for their excellent work during Sankranti. Regarding the issue of electric buses, he said that some people were deliberately spreading misinformation about the privatization of depots in view of the procurement of electric buses.
He promised that not a single employee would be removed from service due to electric buses.
He said that the RTC was procuring electric buses under the Gross Cost Contract (GCC) method as per the Central Government’s EV Policy. The operations of all buses, including electric buses at the depots, are completely managed by TGSRTC.
Sajjanar further explained that it was not possible to run electric buses on all routes and that electric buses such as private hired buses, will run under TGSRTC, and the ticket revenue generated by those buses will go directly to the corporation.
