Warangal: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a disproportionate assets (DA) case against Puppala Srinivas, Deputy Transport Officer, Hanamkonda, Warangal district.
The ACB arrested Srinivas for amassing illegal wealth, including cars, a collection of 23 foreign liquor bottles, and properties worth crores. The accused officer was being produced before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases-cum-III Additional District and Sessions Judge at Warangal.
The ACB officials conducted searches on his residence along with five places linked to him and his relatives in Jagtial and Hyderabad on Friday, as it is an offense punishable U/Sec 13 (1) (b) r/w 13 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (as amended in 2018).
In a statement issued on Saturday, the ACB officials said that they had identified around Rs 4,04,78,767 valuable (as per market value) movable and immovable properties including three houses worth Rs 2.79 crore, 16 open plots worth Rs 13.57 lakh and 15.2 acre agriculture lands worth Rs 14.04 lakh.
Apart from that, the officials also identified a bank balance of Rs 5.85 crore, household articles worth Rs 22.85 lakh, three four-wheelers and one two-wheeler worth Rs 43.80 lakh, gold ornaments (154.28 grams) worth Rs 19.55 lakh and silver ornaments (400 grams) worth Rs 28,000 and others including Rs 5,29,000 valuable foreign liquor. Further verification of additional assets is underway.
Meanwhile, the ACB officials also notified the Shankarpally Excise Police, who filed a separate excise case (Crime Occurrence Report No. 15/2025) under Section 34(a) of the Telangana Excise Act, 1968, for the illegal possession of foreign liquor bottles.
The ACB officials urged people to call 1064 (toll-free number) to report any public servant asking for a bribe.
