Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) has set a new record in rice exports by shipping 7,790 tonnes of rice bags in break-bulk to m v Eleftherotria at East Quay 1A Berth.
The port stated that this surpasses the previous record of 6,758 tonnes shipped to m v Amis Wisdom at EQ-4 on August 10 last year.
The operation was executed under the agency of M/s Spartans involving various exporters and multiple stevedores. This milestone reflects the port’s efficiency and growing capacity in handling bulk cargo operations, VPA stated.
