The Indian SUV market has been witnessing significant growth from past couple of years, with increasing demand of high-riding vehicles offering comfort, space and commanding road presence. The Maruti e Vitara will be the first electric offering from the Indo-Japanese automaker in India. Based on the e-Heartect skateboard platform, the electric SUV will come with two battery packs – 49kWh and 61kWh – paired to the front-axle mounted electric motors, delivering 143bhp and 173bhp, respectively. The torque output of both setups is 192.5Nm. Maruti Suzuki has confirmed that the e Vitara in its higher-spec version will return an MIDC range of over 500km.
Maruti Fronx Hybrid

Recently, the 2025 Maruti Fronx hybrid was caught testing on camera ahead of its launch in mid-2025. This sub-4 metre SUV will mark debut of Maruti Suzuki’s own strong hybrid powertrain. The updated version will feature the 1.2L, 3-cylinder Z12E petrol engine with the strong hybrid tech, promising high fuel efficiency. Reports suggest that it will deliver a mileage of over 30kmpl. Both manual and AMT gearboxes will be on offer.
Maruti Grand Vitara 7-Seater

The Indo-Japanese automaker will introduce the three-row version of the Grand Vitara SUV in the second half of 2025. This new 7-seater Maruti SUV will carry a new nameplate while sharing platform and powertrain with its 5-seater sibling. That means it will come with the 1.5L K15C petrol and Toyota’s 1.5L, 3-cylinder strong hybrid powertrain options. A few changes will also be made to its exterior.

Hyundai Motor India is set to launch the second-generation Venue subcompact SUV towards the end of 2025. The all-new model is likely to witness comprehensive changes inside and out. Spy images suggest that the 2025 Hyundai Venue will feature a newly-designed front grille, revised bumpers, redesigned headlamp and taillamp clusters and new alloy wheels. Features such as new upholstery, a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats and revised dashboard might be on offer. No mechanical changes are expected to be made under the hood.
