Hyderabad: An Intermediate second-year student allegedly died by suicide at her college hostel room on Tuesday evening in Bachupally. Following her death, tension prevailed at the college premises as the family members of the girl staged a protest, accusing the college authorities of being involved in hushing up her death.
“Initially, we got a phone call wherein the staff said that my daughter Poojitha suffered an injury after falling down and asked us to come to the hospital. Subsequently, it was declared that it was a case of suicide. How can there be such inconsistency in declaring how my daughter died?” her father questioned while speaking to the media.
Bachupally police later said that it was a case of suicide since they found a suicide note after searching the girl’s hostel room. A case of suspicious death was registered by the police.
