Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy of Telangana High Court on Wednesday )(February 12, 2025) gave conditional permission to Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party to convene a meeting at the local junior college ground in Amangal on February 18, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with not more than 3,000 participants.
The BRS party moved the High Court by filing a writ petition seeking direction to Shadnagar police of Cyberabad commissionerate to permit their meeting in protest against ruling Congress party’s failure to fulfil six poll promises made during 2023 Assembly elections.
Among the conditions imposed by the judge was that no provocative statements or slogans should be made during the protest meeting. The police will have the liberty to take action against the organisers if any of the conditions was violated, the order said.
