Hyderabad District Collector Anudeep Durishetty highlighted that all private hospitals, clinics, and diagnostic centres in Hyderabad must operate with legally qualified doctors, adhere to registration requirements, and comply with legal norms. He made these remarks during an awareness seminar in Secunderabad on Tuesday (February 18, 2025), which was attended by medical directors of various private healthcare establishments.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Durishetty underscored that only qualified medical professionals should administer treatment and that no procedure should be performed beyond a doctor’s expertise. He insisted that hospitals must ensure proper facilities for patients, employ trained staff, and maintain transparency in service charges.

Private healthcare institutions were also directed to submit their service rate structures annually and charge fees accordingly. The Collector urged hospital administrators to familiarise themselves with the Clinical Establishment Act, the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PC-PNDT) Act, the Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP) Act, and the Surrogacy Act to ensure legal compliance in their operations.

He warned that stringent legal action would be taken against hospitals violating regulations. He particularly noted that some autism centres, wellness clinics, and weight-loss facilities were overcharging patients under the guise of speech therapy and other treatments.
