Telugu Desam Party had decided to stay away from Telangana Assembly Elections. Chandrababu Naidu is arrested. Lokesh and other leaders are occupied with Andhra Pradesh politics and the legal meetings.
So, it is very difficult to concentrate on Telangana elections. Hence, Chandrababu decided to opt out of the elections.
With no Chandrababu, Telangana elections are lacking spice.
Telangana CM KCR is attending three public meetings a day. But then, the comments he made there are not as stingy as in the case of the previous elections.
Both the elections of Telangana after the bifurcation happened with Chandrababu as the focal point.
KCR used to rake Telangana sentiment showcasing Chandrababu and Andhra people as villains. That used to come so much handy before the elections.
In 2018, it appeared like KCR was running out of strategy. He appeared on the backfoot with early elections.
At that time, Chandrababu dropped himself into Telangana by allying with Congress. The alliance has helped KCR so much. He used to scare voters that Andhra parties would return if he was not voted to power and that worked very well.
Also, people did not like the alliance of TDP and Congress.
Cut to now, there is no Chandrababu and no TDP as well. Further, KCR is in two minds talking about Chandrababu because KTR’s comments after Chandrababu’s arrest backfired with the settlers.
Going anything remotely close in this delicate time can backfire, so KCR is not taking any risk.
Also, in the absence of Chandrababu Naidu, there is no tall leader in the Opposition matching KCR. So, KCR speeches appear like there is no proper spice.
