Two Small Planes Collide Midair In Arizona, 2 Dead

Two small planes collided midair at an Arizona airport leaving at least two people dead.

A Cessna 172S and Lancair 360 MKII collided at 8:28 am near the Marana Regional Airport.

The Marana Police Department is at the airport and confirmed at least two people died from the incident.

The airport is an ‘uncontrolled field’ without an air traffic control tower. Pilots usually announce their position to other pilots using a common traffic advisory frequency.

This is the sixth incident with flights since the January 29 midair collision at Ronald Reagon Washington National Airport, which killed 67 people.

The four other incidents include a Philadelphia medevac plane crash, an Alaska plane crash killing 10 people, a private plane in Arizona ran off the runway killing the pilot, and the most recent Delta Air Lines jet that rolled over the runway to turn upside down in Toronto.
