Grad MLC polls: TPCC chief seeks support for Narender

Hyderabad: Telangana Congress president B Mahesh Kumar Goud has appealed to various political parties to support V Narender Reddy, the Congress candidate and chairman of an educational institutions group, in the graduates MLC elections.
On Wednesday, Mahesh Goud wrote letters to CPI secretary and MLA Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao, TJS president and MLC M Kodandaram, and CPM state secretary John Wesley, seeking their support for Narender.
In his letters, Mahesh Goud emphasised the importance of defeating the ‘dictatorial attitude’ of the BRS and the ‘communal rule’ of the BJP, urging the leaders to back Narender to ensure his victory. He accused the BRS of being unable to tolerate Congress welfare programmes and criticised the BJP for focusing on divisive religious issues. Mahesh Goud also alleged that BRS and BJP have a secret understanding, with the BRS staying away from the MLC polls.
During separate campaign meetings for Narender in the MLC constituency, Mahesh Goud, along with ministers Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Jupally Krishna Rao, and MPs Ch Kiran Kumar Reddy and Mallu Ravi, criticised former CM K Chandrasekhar Rao. They accused KCR of being out of touch with the state’s progress and welfare schemes after spending over a year at his farmhouse.
Mahesh Goud concluded that despite the people’s rejection of KCR in previous elections, he had failed to learn from his mistakes. tnn
