Hyderabad: Two persons, who abducted and sexually abused a minor girl, were given life sentences by a court in Khammam on Thursday. The judgment was delivered by the district additional judge. The court also imposed a penalty of Rs 2.1 lakh on each of them.
The convicts are Kalevalli Sampath (25), an auto driver from Ramanagutta in Khammam, and his aide Pasuvula Naveen (25), a painter from Manchikatinagar in the same district.
The duo had abducted a 12-year-old girl who was playing outside her house on February 7, 2021 on a bike and took her to a secluded place where the crime was committed, said Khanapur Haveli inspector Bhanu Prakash.
Following a complaint by the girl’s parents, the cops arrested the accused.
Khammam police commissioner Sunil Dutt said a case under POCSO sections was booked against the accused, and they were prosecuted.
