Charminar parking lot gains ground

HYDERABAD: AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi said that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had directed the principal secretary for municipal administration to conduct a feasibility study and explore all options on a suggestion made by him on the proposed parking lot at the Old Charminar Bus Stand space.

Owaisi, on his social media handle, referred to a report published in Deccan Chronicle, which stated that Charminar had recorded around 12.9 lakh visitors in 2023-24 as per the India Tourism Data Compendium 2024, and was among the ten most visited spots in India by tourists.

It may be noted Owaisi had urged the Chief Minister to immediately start the construction of the parking lot in the Charminar bus stand space by stating that it will facilitate the parking of tourist buses and cars. He had also sought a sky cable from the 7 Tombs to Bala Hisar in Golconda, which stood sixth all-India in tourist arrivals.
