Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic home, Mannat, is a much-loved landmark at the Bandra Bandstand area in Mumbai, drawing crowds of fans eager to catch a glimpse of the Bollywood superstar. Located in the upscale Bandra area, this stunning mansion has become a tourist site of sorts, often surrounded by a throng of fans hoping for a wave or a photo. But the Badshah of Bollywood is moving out of his palatial home.
Shah Rukh Khan has rented two luxurious duplex apartments in Pali Hills, Khar West, on a three-year lease. These properties belong to the Bhagnani family, with one apartment, owned by Jackky Bhagnani and Deepshikha Deshmukh, leased to Shah Rukh for Rs 11.54 lakh per month, alongside a security deposit of Rs 32.97 lakh. The second apartment, owned by producer Vashu Bhagnani, is rented at Rs 12.61 lakh per month, requiring a Rs 36 lakh deposit.
This move comes shortly after Gauri Khan applied for permission from the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) to expand their iconic home, Mannat. The proposal aims to add two more floors to the six-storey annexe, increasing its built-up area by 616.02 square meters.
Sources told HT that renovations at Mannat will kickstart in May. This includes a long-planned extension of the bungalow, which needed court approval. Since Mannat is a Grade III heritage building, any changes require proper permits. As the renovations begin in a few months, Shah Rukh and his family will temporarily move to the new place.
Sources say the four floors will be home to the Khan family, their security, and staff, along with some office space. “It is clearly not as capacious as Mannat; there is enough space to accommodate his security and other staff,” revealed a source to the publication.
On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan, who had massive hits with Jawan and Pathaan in 2023, is now gearing up for King, directed by Siddharth Anand. The film is rumoured to feature Abhishek Bachchan and Suhana Khan.
