12 women honoured as part of Women’s Day celebrations in Kurnool

Ashoka Women’s Engineering College on Thursday hosted SAACHI 2025, an event held annually to recognise and honour women, who have made outstanding contributions in their respective fields. The event was organised as part of the Women’s Day celebrations at the college lawns.

Y. Showrilu Reddy, dean-administrator at St. Joseph’s Degree College, and philanthropist Vijaya Bharathi were the chief guests for the event. They emphasised the importance of perseverance and determination in achieving success.

“Every woman has the power to break barriers and redefine success. It is through courage and resilience that we shape a better future,” said Ms. Showrilu Reddy. Meanwhile, Ms. Vijaya Bharathi said that honoring these remarkable women today is a step towards encouraging young minds to dream big and work hard to achieve their aspirations..

As part of the event, 12 women were honoured for their remarkable contributions in various fields. They include Sasya Muppa, Krishnapuram Jagathi Reddy, Divya Reddy (Entrepreneur), Mula Sirisha Reddy (Fashion), K. Shantha, Sr. Vijaya Sure, M. Indira Santhi (Education), D. Bhuvaneswari (Art), Jafreen Shaik (Sports), S. Nazima Kausar (Judiciary), Majety Anvitha (IT) and Sravya Rajasekhar (Medicine).

Speaking at the event, Ashoka Women’s Engineering College CEO Hari Krishna and principal R. Naveen reiterated the institution’s commitment to women’s empowerment. They emphasised the crucial role of education, leadership, and resilience in shaping a brighter future for young women.
