Mega Master Plan to power Telangana growth

Hyderabad: The Mega Master Plan 2050, mentioned in the Telangana budget, not only promotes decentralised urbanisation and industrial growth but also emphasises the establishment of solar and wind energy projects, steering the state towards a greener and more energy-efficient future.
According to reliable sources, one of the core concepts of the Mega Master Plan 2050 is to position Telangana as a leader in modern technology, clean energy, and sustainable development. This initiative aligns with the ‘Telangana Rising 2050‘ vision, where the government is shaping policies and programmes to drive sustainable progress.
The government has a laid out a strategic roadmap for the next decade, envisioning a fivefold expansion of the current state economy into a trillion-dollar economy. While the govt introduced several ideas as part of the Mega Master Plan, a comprehensive document is still in the works, as a team of officials is actively developing it.
Earlier, chief minister A Revanth Reddy announced plans to map the Telangana Core Urban Region. Currently, top officials in the municipal administration and urban development and power sector are engaged in this task.
Although there was a proposal to document all plans with the help of a consultant, it has not yet materialised, and discussions are still in early stages. Sources indicated that a significant step towards implementing this plan involves allocating Rs 100 crore for the development of ‘Future City’ in the budget.
This project is also a core component of the Mega Master Plan. Ideas already under consideration include the merging of certain municipalities within the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and divide the civic body into three zones.
