IMD issues thunderstorm alert in 18 Telangana districts for Sunday

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms in 18 districts of Telangana on Sunday, March 23. The alert warns of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds at isolated places across the State.

According to the IMD bulletin, the alert has been issued to Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak and Kamareddy.

IMD also forecast a drop in maximum temperatures by 2 to 3°C over the next two days, followed by a gradual rise of a similar margin thereafter.

For Hyderabad, the IMD predicts a generally cloudy sky over the next 48 hours. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by gusty winds are expected towards the evening or night. The city’s maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 35°C and 19°C respectively.
