Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metro Rail has announced significant changes to its operational hours, offering extended timings for late-night commuters. Starting April 1, the last train departure from all terminal stations will be extended from 11pm to 11.45pm on weekdays (Monday to Friday). Additionally, Sunday services will now begin earlier, with the first train departing at 7:00 AM from terminal stations. The extension comes alongside the continuation of the popular student pass offer until March 31 next year, allowing students to enjoy 30 trips for the price of 20. To complement these services, SVIDA Mobility, the official first and last-mile partner, has expanded its fleet to 200 dedicated feeder vehicles, serving over 16,000 daily commuters.
Speaking about other initiatives launched by the metro to enhance the experience of the over 5 lakh commuters, a senior official from Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMRL), said, “By integrating cultural initiatives like Metro Fest, Metro Medley, and the Art Fest into our transit ecosystem, we are reinforcing the role of public transport as a space for public engagement, inclusivity, and civic pride. Such initiatives not only enhance the commuter experience but also align with our vision of making Hyderabad a global model for sustainable and vibrant urban mobility.”
KVB Reddy, MD and CEO, L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad (L&TMRHL), added, “The launch of the T-Savaari app and our revamped passenger website marks a significant step towards making Hyderabad Metro a digitally empowered transit system. By leveraging technology, we are enhancing efficiency, accessibility, and commuter convenience, ensuring that our passengers have a smooth, connected, and future-ready metro experience.”
T-Savaari app upgraded
The newly upgraded T-Savaari mobile application introduces several user-centric features to enhance the metro travel experience. Key additions include a journey experience rating system, QR ticket cancellation functionality, and real-time booking status updates. The app now also features auto-brightness adjustment for QR ticket scanning and speech-to-text capability for station selection.
Another notable addition is the loyalty points program, where commuters can earn points based on ticket prices. With a conversion rate of 10 points equalling 1 and a minimum redemption threshold of 100 points, the program offers tangible benefits to regular travellers. Points remain valid for 30 days from the date of credit.

L&TMRHL’s newly redesigned website (www.ltmetro.com) has been upgraded with built-in AI tools. The website now offers features including real-time train tracking, fare information, and integrated social media feeds.
