Hyderabad: In a move to improve convenience for passengers, Hyderabad Metro Rail has revised its operational hours and introduced new digital features. Starting April 1, metro services will run later at night, with the last train from all terminal stations departing at 11:45 PM instead of 11:00 PM on weekdays (Monday to Friday). Additionally, Sunday services will start earlier, with the first train leaving at 7:00 AM from terminal stations.

To further support commuters, the metro has extended its popular student pass scheme until March 31 next year. Under this scheme, students can avail 30 trips for the price of 20, making travel more affordable, according to a TOI report.

Recognising the need for better connectivity, SVIDA Mobility, the official first and last-mile partner, has increased its fleet to 200 feeder vehicles, catering to over 16,000 passengers daily.

Metro Initiatives to Enhance Commuter Experience

Apart from operational improvements, Hyderabad Metro Rail is focusing on creating a more engaging travel environment. A senior official from Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) highlighted the introduction of cultural programmes such as Metro Fest, Metro Medley, and Art Fest. These initiatives aim to transform metro stations into vibrant public spaces, promoting civic pride and inclusivity.

KVB Reddy, MD & CEO of L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad (L&TMRHL), emphasised the metro’s commitment to digital transformation.
