Miss my S-Cross after letting it go: Looking back at fond memories

Being my daily drive car in Delhi/NCR it was the perfect blend of size, comfort & performance.

Hello fellow BHP-ians and S-Cross owners! While I’ve not been very active here on the forum I’ve frequented this thread far more than any other, so far. The S-Cross was a surprise package when it came out and still remains one of the best to come from the Maruti stable in 2025. I owned a 1.3 Zeta since it launched in 2015 till the ticking time bomb of NGT could allow me to, letting go of her in February 2025. Here’s the first proper picture of her from Sept 2015:

Miss my S-Cross after letting it go: Looking back at fond memories

Being my daily drive car in Delhi/NCR it was the perfect blend of size, comfort & performance. Neither did we need an upgrade nor did the car leave me wanting for more in terms of tech or gimmicky features in the 9+ years of ownership. Can’t believe it’s almost been a decade since we got her home. I practically grew from a 23YO boy to a 32YO man going through the good and the bad, working and travelling primarily in the S-Cross so much so that for a few years it even acted as my moving office space to work from! Over the years took her to a handful of road trips too with family, friends and sometimes solo as well.

I drove her for about 110k kms and I’m happy to report the car never broke down or threw any tantrums. Would have loved to happily continue driving it had the Govt, emission norms and regulations for diesel cars not become unfavourable. It took me a very long time to find a replacement in MG Windsor EV for the S-Cross and while I eventually did move on from the diesel I’m not entirely sure yet if it’s an upgrade. More on the new car some other day in another thread. I’ll end this memoir of a post with some parting shots from the day the S-Cross was sold to Cars24.
