River Indie owner gets doorstep service to resolve a side stand sensor issue. The service advisor informed that in 2nd gen this issue will not happen due to sensor being fixed in the chassis itself in a safe position with very less impact of bolt head on sensor
BHPian CBE River Indie recently shared this with other enthusiasts:
Quote from BHPian CBE River Indie:
Today, service advisor from Coimbatore Service Center called me on video call and after visualizing the side stand in off position from below, informed to remove the copper bolt fixed on the side stand near the spring and asked it to be tapped to the small black rectangular rubber like structure (should be side stand sensor) which happened to be broken and hanging loosely from its position above the side stand hinge.
On April 05, by 1:30 pm, service advisor and service technician from Coimbatore Service Centre came for doorstep service and replaced the broken magnetic side stand sensor at my residence. They also reduced the length of bolt protruding from side stand so that impact of bolt head on sensor a bit less.
They informed that this may have caused due to frequent use of side stand and thereby the bolt head hitting the sensor forcibly if we are NOT removing the side stand Smoothly.
They also informed that in 2nd gen this issue will not happen due to sensor being fixed in the chassis itself in a safe position with very less impact of bolt head on sensor.
I thanked them heartful for addressing the issue on 2nd day itself
They charged me Rs. 686 (Rs 350 for doorstep service and Rs. 336 for side stand sensor).
I request all River Indie Riders to smoothly remove the side stand to avoid this issue.
With You All Team-BHP’ians a Healthy Life!!!
