Leaks have ruined yet another upcoming Samsung smartphone today. The Galaxy A25 is in the spotlight this time around, with renders of the phone published by Android Headlines revealing a design that will be familiar to Samsung fans but also has something new.

That something new is a textured pattern at the back that was not visible on CAD renders of the device that we had seen a few months back. There’s also a new color: light blue is replacing the Galaxy A24’s dark red. The rest of the design is standard fare for Samsung smartphones in 2023, like the three vertically inclined individual camera sensors at the back and all the buttons on the right side.

That textured pattern at the back is the only thing differentiating the Galaxy A25 from the Galaxy A24. It actually makes the upcoming device look less premium, though this will come down to individual preference. For many, it won’t matter at all, as the front side remains unchanged, which means you get some hideous bezels to remind you of the budget nature of the device.

The A25 will not get many spec upgrades, either, though it will get an important one: it will be powered by the Exynos 1280 chipset, which is more efficient than the MediaTek chip that powers the Galaxy A24. And since it is set to launch in 2024, the Galaxy A25 will also come with Android 14 and One UI 6 out of the box. The One UI version will be 6.1, to be more precise, if the A25 goes official a year after the A24 and not a few months earlier.

Better yet, since the Galaxy A24 is eligible for four major OS upgrades and five years of security updates, the Galaxy A25 should be as well. No other manufacturer offers this kind of support for phones that cost less than $300, which will make the Galaxy A25 stand out.

Some of the phone’s specs are expected to include a 50MP primary rear camera, a 13MP selfie camera, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 25W charging. The A25 will also support 5G connectivity and should have two SIM slots in addition to a microSD slot.
