Skills varsity plans English, soft skills initiative for 4 Mahabubnagar colleges

Hyderabad: A four-member team from Young India Skills University, led by its vice chancellor VLVSS Subba Rao, visited Mahabubnagar on Saturday to prepare an action plan for launching an English and soft skills initiative for final-year degree students of four govt colleges in the combined district.
The YISU four-member group was accompanied by their professional soft skills trainer team.
The programme has been named Mahabubnagar Skills Training for Employment Readiness (MASTER). In a meeting held with the principals of the four colleges, MVS Degree College, NTR College (Mahabubnagar), BRR College (Jadcherla), and Govt Degree College (Kodangal) , it was planned to first conduct an initial assessment of the students about to enter the final-year degree course next year.
The assessed students would be graded into Basic and Basic Plus levels based on the test results. Each category of students would receive specialised English and soft skills training for the full year ahead, based on their levels and as per an agreed timetable with the colleges.
This would empower the students with better English communication skills, confidence, the right attitude, and personality development to enhance their career prospects. The programme would be launched as soon as the CSR donor funding was secured by the MLA of Mahabubnagar, Srinivas Reddy.
