In a suspected case of premeditated murder, a man was fatally stabbed by unidentified individuals in the early hours of Monday (April 14, 2025) in Rein Bazaar, Hyderabad, just days ahead of his wedding. The deceased, identified as Masiuddin, was scheduled to marry on Saturday (April 19, 2025).
Police confirmed that he had a criminal record and was listed as a rowdy-sheeter at the Falaknuma police station.
Police said that the incident occurred between 1 and 1.15 a.m. on Monday. “Masiuddin had reportedly been out distributing wedding invitations when he was ambushed and attacked with knives. Arif Khan and another individual are among those suspected to have been involved in the assault, which is believed to have taken place under the influence of alcohol,” said the police.
The assailants fled the scene immediately after the attack. Upon being alerted, the police reached the location, cordoned off the area, and shifted the body for a post-mortem examination.
Investigators suspect personal rivalry may have been the motive behind the murder. CCTV footage from the vicinity is being reviewed, and forensic evidence is being collected as part of the inquiry. A case has been registered and the investigation is currently underway.
