Rich tributes paid to Dr. Ambedkar in Kurnool, Nandyal and Anantapur districts

Ambedkar Jayanthi celebrations were held in a grand manner in the undivided Kurnool district and Anantapur on Monday.

Kurnool

In Kurnool, Industries and Commerce Minister T.G. Bharath, MP B. Nagaraju and others garlanded the statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at the Old Bus Stand area. Mr. Bharath extolled the contribution of Dr. Ambedkar to the nation by playing a key role in securing equal rights for the people.

“Even after decades, we are still following the path shown by Dr. Ambedkar. He was a visionary who drafted the Constitution with a vision to ensure equal rights to all,’‘ said Mr. Bharath, adding that the NDA government in the State has been implementing the Constitution in toto “unlike the previous government”.

Meanwhile, Collector P. Ranjith Basha participated in the celebrations of Ambedkar’s birth anniversary at the SC Welfare Residential School at the Veldurthi mandal headquarters.

Nandyal

In Nandyal, Minorities Welfare Minister N. Md Farooq, Collector Rajakumari Gania and others participated in the Dr Ambedkar birth anniversary celebrations. Mr. Farooq said every individual should follow the footsteps of Dr. Ambedkar and hailed the latter’s fight for the upliftment and rights of Dalits. “Dr. Ambedkar visited various countries, studied the governance there and drafted the Constitution,’‘ he said.

Later, foundation stone was laid for the installation of a bronze statue of Dr. Ambedkar at the Municipal Office in Nandyal. The dignitaries planted saplings in the municipal office premises on the occasion.

At the district police office, Superintendent of Police Adhiraj Singh Rana offered tributes to the portrait of Dr. Ambedkar and lauded the services of the visionary leader to the nation.

Anantapur

Anantapur MP Ambica Lakshminarayana, Collector Vinod Kumar V. and others garlanded the statue of Dr. Ambedkar at the zilla parishad circle in the town on the occasion of the 134th birth anniversary celebrations.

In Anantapur town, the TDP leaders held the birth anniversary celebrations in a grand manner by taking out rallies in which Urban MLA Daggubati Venkateswara Prasad played the`dappu’ (drums) and garlanded the statue of Dr. Ambedkar at the ZP office. Anantapur MP Ambica Lakshminarayana and district party president Venkatasivudu Yadav also participated.
