Hyderabad: A 27-year-old woman died by suicide allegedly after being cheated by the man she was in a relationship with at Dilsukhnagar. The woman, a native of Nalgonda district, was working as a staff nurse at a hospital in Punjagutta.
According to police officials, the woman, who belongs to Dalit community, and one Janareddy, also a native of Nalgonda district, were in a relationship for the past few years. Janareddy allegedly persuaded the woman into a physical relationship by promising her marriage.

After Janareddy’s marriage, the woman confined herself to home. Ten days ago, she returned to Hyderabad and started going to work. On Monday, at around 3 am, her roommate found her lying unconscious in the hostel bathroom and rushed her to a hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.
Saroor Nagar police, investigating the case, suspect that she could have consumed unknown medicines and resorted to the extreme step. They recovered empty tablet strips and a pregnancy testing kit from her bag. Based on the PME report and other evidence, the probe would proceed, said a senior police official said. Police registered a case against Janareddy under the SC & ST Atrocities Act and started investigation.
