Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, on Tuesday approved a draft ordinance on SC Sub-Categorisation. The cabinet also approved infrastructure projects, including the construction of the State Assembly building at a cost of Rs. 617 crore and the High Court building at Rs. 786 crore.
In a boost to IT development, the cabinet allocated 21.66 acres to TCS and 3.5 acres to Urusa Clusters Private Limited on IT Hill-3 in Visakhapatnam, along with 56 acres in Kapuluppada to Urusa Cluster for industrial development.
The cabinet further approved renewable energy and hydropower initiatives, including the construction of two hydel projects with a combined capacity of 30 MW at Balimela and Jolaput reservoirs, to be undertaken by the Odisha Power Consortium. Additionally, the Water Resources Department’s proposals for establishing wind and solar power projects across various regions were greenlit, reinforcing the state’s commitment to sustainable energy.
