WARANGAL: Police on Tuesday arrested three persons for involvement in illegal possession and distribution of narcotic substances including dry ganja and hashish oil during a routine check in the Reddy Colony area of Hanamkonda district.
The police seized 10 kg of dry ganja worth Rs 5 lakh, 2 kg of hashish oil worth Rs 25 lakh, three mobile phones, a Royal Enfield motorcycle and a Bajaj auto from their possession.
DCP, Central Zone, Shaik Saleema told the media that the accused were identified as Kotagiri Sai Vinay (25), a resident of Hanamkonda, Lavudya Ravinder (40), a resident of Annampalli Thanda of Mulugu and Guguloth Hari Singh (45), a resident of Amar Singh Thanda of Mahabubabad district.
Finding the parking of an auto and a bike suspicious, police attempted to question a few individuals when they tried to flee the scene. Upon interrogation, police found that Kotagiri Sai Vinay, a gym trainer from Sudhanagar of Hanamkonda, had drug-related connections to Andhra Pradesh in 2023. In jail, he came into contact with other players in the drug network including Lavudya Ravinder and others.
Further probe found that Sai Vinay had received 2 kg of hashish oil from Ramurthy via Hari. Additionally, 12 kg of dry ganja was supplied by co-accused Lavudya Ravinder and Guguloth Hari Singh.
The gang had already sold 2 kg of ganja to local users and was planning to transport the hashish oil to Hyderabad when police nabbed them. The police started a manhunt to nab the other accused.
