Chief Minister Revanth Reddy Friday announced that transgender persons would be deployed for traffic management in Hyderabad and asked the police department to explore recruitment on the lines of homeguards in police department.
This would be the first-ever recruitment to government service and social welfare program for transgender persons.
The CM was reviewing the traffic scenario in Hyderabad when he suggested employing transgender persons. He said “explore the possibilities of training transgender persons for regulating traffic in Hyderabad on lines of homeguards.”
The department would now identify, train and recruit transgender persons to support Hyderabad traffic police. The department will soon officially ask interested persons to approach them for training. The process of collection of details of interested individuals is likely to start soon.
