Vijayawada: Over 25 sovereigns of gold were stolen from a car near the Omkaram turning point at the Indrakeeladri Hill in Vijayawada. The culprits took advantage of the situation when devotees traveling from Hyderabad, en route to a wedding in Amalapuram, stopped to offer prayers at the Kanaka Durga temple.
The victim, Durga Rani, upon discovering the theft, filed a complaint at the Vijayawada One Town police station. The police, along with the clues team, immediately began a preliminary investigation at the scene. A case has been registered, and the investigation is ongoing.
Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to gather leads.
