Hyderabad Talent Hotspot for Mid-Market GCCs: Nasscom

Hyderabad: Hyderabad has emerged as a leading talent hotspot for mid-market global capability centres (GCCs) in the last five years, contributing 25 per cent of talent growth. Hyderabad is seeing growth of GCCs. It has seen a few GCCs in the last two to three weeks setting up operations in the city, said Nasscom GCC Council chair Mamatha Madireddy.

Bengaluru, Hyderabad, NCR, and Chennai remain leading destinations for mid-market GCCs, attracting 74 per cent of all new GCC units established. GCCs revenue is expected to reach $100 billion by 2030 from present $64.6 billion and generate employment of 22 lakh jobs in the country by the same time from the present 19 lakh, said IT industry body Nasscom in a report ‘India’s GCC leap: Capturing global mid-market momentum’, released at the 15th edition of Nasscom GCC Summit 2025 in Hyderabad on Tuesday.

At present, 1,760 GCCs are operating in India and the number will reach 2,200 GCCs in five years. The mid-market GCC segment has been instrumental in shaping India’s GCC narrative, accounting for 27 per cent of all GCCs.
“I think in terms of infrastructure and talent, Hyderabad as a story has got this narrative, the whole country has the same narrative,” she added.

Stressing that government, academia and industry need to work together to build the right talent, she said GCCs and IT services companies have symbiotic relationships. “Collaboration helps the GCCs to understand what is that they need to focus on as core and what is it that they can partner with IT services that can support them,” Madireddy noted.

“We need to build up our knowledge of the global leadership roles in India. Today, the number is 6,500, and the number is expected to touch 30,000 by 2030. As revenues of GCCs rise, they create direct and indirect job opportunities,” she said.
