Hyderabad:HYDRAA stated that on Tuesday that the City Civil Court upheld the agency’s claim in the Bathukamma Kunta case, and dismissed the suit filed by BRS leader Yedla Sudhakar Reddy claiming ownership over the lake land.
HYDRAA, in a press release, said that the verdict came after a detailed trial that lasted nearly a month. Reddy had claimed that the Bathukamma Kunta was not a lake and that he owned the land.
The press release noted that the City Civil Court Judge M. Venkateswara Rao, after inspecting the revenue records, satellite imagery, village maps and Survey of India maps, dismissed the original suit, clearing the way for the agency to resume the lake rejuvenation works.
HYDRAA commissioner A.V. Ranganath welcomed the dismissal. He congratulated the legal team, including standing counsels K. Anil Kumar, S. Srinivas and B. Ajay, government advocate B. Janardhan, HYDRAA’s legal inspector Mohan and the agency’s legal advisor Srinivas.
