Nehru Zoo Park Starts Summer Camp from May

Hyderabad: The Nehru Zoological Park said it was starting a wildlife camp from the first week of May to June for students from Class 5 to college. Every day, a batch of 15 to 30 children will take part in activities, guided by trained wildlife educators. Participants will have a close look at how the zoo works, starting with an introduction to the zoo’s history, its purpose, and how it cares for animals and the environment.

The registration fee is Rs.1000 per participant, which includes a summer-specific snack with fluids and electrolytes, as well as a light vegetarian lunch. Every student also receives a kit with a cap, notepad, and a badge. For more details, visit the online registration at www.nzptsfd.telangana.gov.in.

Participants will get a guided tour of the zoo. They will also see the fodder plot and the vermicompost unit. In some sessions, they might also help in preparing food for birds and improving the animal enclosures as part of hands-on learning.

At the reptile awareness session, participants can learn how to identify different reptile species, understand the importance of snakes in the ecosystem, and handle a few reptiles under supervision. Children will also be taught snakebite safety techniques.

The camp includes drawing and painting sessions. At the end of the day, each participant will receive a photo momento.
