AN UPDATE:
I have been riding the bike at night in and around my society to get acustomed to the new riding posture and also to keep her fit and fine for the RTO fitness check test. But a couple of days back, she again has got grounded. The rear suspension (Monoshock) has started to leak. I have taken out the monoshock and now she is sitting on Jack. Giving it out to see if it can be repaired.
While doing the removal of the Monoshock, One thing amused me about the Japenese Engineering. Unlike other bikes (having no main stand), for servicing such items we have to jack them up. Like in our 4 wheelers, this bike has a jacking point hidden away behind the front cylinder silencer. The jacking point is also perfectly positioned keeping in mind the CG of the bike. While lifting the bike up for removing the monoshock, she never shifted and felt safe to lift on the jack. Here I used my Octavia’s jack due to its compact design benefit. This bike has a very low GC and beacuse of the leaking shock absorber, the GC went down more making it hard to use our regular scissor jacks.
This bike never fails to amuse me for its level of engineering. Now keeping fingers crossed to see if the monoshock can be repaired.
