Jigar Thanda Double X is a period action drama starring Raghava Lawrence and SJ Surya in lead roles. Karthik Subbaraju, who is famous as a creative director in Tamil, has directed this movie. Story:
Raghava Lawrence (alias Caesar) is a rowdy in Kurnool. He works according to a political leader. On the other hand, SJ Surya (Ray Dasan) dreams of becoming a policeman and accidentally gets arrested in a murder case. In the wake of some dramatic developments in this sequence, SJ agrees to kill Surya and Raghava Lawrence. Who actually wants to kill Raghava Lawrence?, Why SJ Surya is selected?, Who is the person behind this whole affair?, Finally how is this story ending? That is the rest of the story.
Plus Points:
This film, which is a periodical action drama, has some emotional elements and good action scenes. Especially the characters of Raghava Lawrence – SJ Surya, their cinematography as well as their getups and setup are good. Moreover, the tribal novelty in the movie is also good. More than anything else, this movie is very new in Raghava Lawrence’s film career. Raghava Lawrence and SJ Surya also acted well in this movie according to the circumstances of their role.
Lawrence has done very well with his body language as well as some emotional and feel good sequences. SJ Surya, who played another key role, impressed with his acting and body ease. Shine Tom Chacko as the villain does not have much scope. However, he did full justice to his role. Naveen Chandra’s performance is also natural. Sathyan, Arvind Akash as well as the rest of the cast also performed well in the scope of their roles. Also the shooting and making style of this film is good.
Minus Points:
Although the story background of this Jigar Tanda Double X, as well as the filming of the main characters, and the performance of the actors are good, the director Karthik Subbaraju could not create interest in the story. Especially in the track that revolves around the tribal theme, the repeated scenes have increased. Along with this, the conflicts and emotions between the characters were not worked out in the first half. As the first half played with fake emotions around the illogical point, this jigger Tanda 2 disappointed at some places.
Moreover, some of the main scenes in the first thirty minutes of the second half seem like a mellow drama. In addition to this, the characters are too large and unnecessary action sequences here and there are not up to the standard of the film. Gripping narration is missing mainly in some lead scenes. Along with this, some action scenes were also routine. Overall, the director Karthik Subbaraju has not been able to make this movie in a fully impressive way.
Technical Department:
Talking about technicians.. As mentioned earlier, director Karthik Subbaraju’s take is good. However, they failed to write good content. His screenplay is not interesting. Music director Santhosh Narayanan’s music is fine. But the background score of the second half is very impressive in some key scenes.
Tirru’s cinematography work is very good. No more editor’s editing work. The production values are very good.
Verdict:
In this periodical action drama called Jigar Tanda Double X.. stylish making, some emotional and action elements as well as Raghava Lawrence – S.J. Surya’s acting are a plus for the movie. But, missing interesting elements in the first half, slow narration at some places, and boring scenes, regular and repeated scenes are the minuses of the movie.
