Hyderabad: To ensure that infrastructure projects are completed on time chief secretary K Ramakrishna Rao on Sunday made a surprise visit in parts Hyderabad and Old City. After assuming office this is the first visit of the chief secretary on ground to inspect the on going works and ensure its completion.
Musi river, metro rail in Old City, foot over bridge and other infrastructure projects were inspected. Senior officials from all departments were also on ground to take stock of the situation.
Footover bridge works
The foot over bridge being built at Banjara Hills which is nearing completion was inspected. Secretary MAUD Ilambarthi informed that 42 FOBs are at functional stage in different parts of the city while survey is being done for taking up construction of FOBs in other places as well. FOBs are being built to ensure pedestrian safety,ease traffic flow and also to enhance urban aesthetics and accessibility through modern architectural elements.
Old City metro rail works Ongoing
works of road widening from MG bus station to Chandrayanagutta (old city) for the extension of metro rail which is being taken up at a cost of Rs 2741 crores. Managing director of Metro Rail N V S Reddy informed that the land acquisition process for road widening and dismantling of affected properties which were already acquired is under progress.
The conservation, restoration and repair works of the Khursheed Jah Devdi at Hussaini Alam , Charminar were also inspected.
The ongoing works at Moosarambagh Flyover, Falaknuma Road Over bridge and Sewerage Treatment Plant at Amberpet were also visited with officials. While inspecting various works, chief secretary directed the concerned officials to expedite the pace of work for timely completion while ensuring the quality parameters of each work are strictly adhered to.
