Jeep Compass: 47,000km update
Its been 3.25 years and 47,000 kms of awesomeness with the Compass. Nothing new to be told on its strengths. Coming to downsides as reported by some, in my case there has not been any rattles, in fact not even a single squeak even after suspension taking a heavy beating every now and then.
Installing evcX throttle controller
There was an itch to try something new. As the car is under extended warranty, instead of remap thought of throttle controller. Now its known that Compass is fast, but an extra push would not hurt. When I visited Generation Speed, chanced upon STR Works and had left my number. Got a call from Mr. Ajit explaining the details of the device from evcX and decided to give a try. Made an appointment on sunday and his team installed the device, also downloaded the app through which the modes can be controlled.
It has been 2,000kms since then and the car feels more agile to drive. Along with being fast in straights, the in gear response has also improved. Its much more fun to drive particularly on winding roads.
The app works via bluetooth with various modes shown. The number scale in the middle i.,e 1 to 9 controls the level of response. Some modes do not have number control.
