Adilabad: Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan said that stringent action would be taken against owners of dhabas if they committed anti-social activities. He convened a meeting with the owners of the road-side eateries in Gudihathnoor mandal centre on Saturday.

Akhil warned that cases would be booked against the owners if they allowed customers to consume liquor and banned ganja on the premises of their eateries. He cautioned that the eateries would be seized if found violating the law. He stated that the enforcement was part of precautionary measures to prevent road accidents caused by consumption of alcohol.

The superintendent further asked the owners to duly install CCTV cameras to record movement of customers and strangers. He ordered them not to allow motorists to park their vehicles on the road under any circumstance. He told them to share information of trouble makers and smugglers of ganja and if they spot anyone with weapons.

The IPS officer instructed the owners to submit details and fingerprints of employees at their local police station. He advised them to recruit staffers who don’t have a criminal background. He asked them to lay special focus on the employees with criminal history.

Utnoor ASP Kajal Singh, Adilabad DSP Jeevan Reddy, DCRB DSP Ch Nagender, Inspectors Sainath, K Phanidhar, Venkateshwar Rao, Bheemesh, Sub-Inspectors Mahender and Srikanth were present.
