Amid rumours of differences cropping up among the top leaders in the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS), its working president K.T. Rama Rao called on former Minister and his cousin T. Harish Rao at his residence on Friday (May 16, 2025).
The two-hour family meeting was apparently to call on the ailing father of Mr. Harish Rao. It is being rumoured that they discussed the political situation in the State and how the social media is creating differences within the family.
Party circles and leaders are confused over the alleged differences and rumours going to the extent that Mr. Harish Rao had to clarify that he would work under KTR if the party’s leadership was handed over to him. This apparently figured in the discussions.
Party leaders including MLAs too were worried over the gaining perception of differences between KTR, Mr. Harish Rao and MLC K. Kavitha. A BRS MLA, wishing anonymity, said there is a need to suppress the emerging conspiracy theories of revolt within the party.
The meeting assumes significance in the light of difference of opinions among the top leaders of the party and also the silence of BRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
